the salacas
Explicación:
The Salasacas, according to some ethno-historic sources, are descendants of a mitimae (colonist) group brought from Bolivia in time of the Inca Empire. They live in the province of Tungurahua to the southeast of the city of Ambato in the sandy plain of the canton of Pelileo at the foot of the Teligote mountain.
Salasaca is located in the Tungurahua province in central Ecuador, halfway between Ambato and Baños. The Salasacas speak Spanish and Quichua. Its main economic activities are agriculture, livestock and crafts.
A widely disputed theory is that the Salasaca were brought from Bolivia in the 15th century by the Inca ruler Pachacutic (Yapangui II). In the framework of its recently introduced mitimae system, a small number of men and women were supplied to colonize the current Salasaca area. The salaaca origin as mitimaes is based on certain characteristics in surnames, terminology, festivals and music.
