Si me das 70 monedas tendré el triple de dinero que tú, pero si yo te doy 70 monedas entonces tú tendrás el quíntuplo que yo, ¿Cuántas monedas tenemos casa uno?

Incógnitas serán : yo= X ;  tu=Y
Formando la ecuación
x+70=3 (y-70)
y+70=5 (x-70)

x+70=3y - 210
y+70=5x - 350

x-3y=-280
-5x+y=-420

x = 3y - 280  _______ ec. (1)
-5x+y=-420  ________ec. (2)

Para (y):

Reemplazando  ec. (1) en (2)

-5(3y-280)+y=-420
-15y+1400 + y = - 420
-14y = -420 -1400
-14y = - 1820  (-1)
y=1820/14
y=130

Para (x):
x = 3y - 280
x = 3(130) - 280
x = 110

Yo= X ;  tu=Y

Yo= 110 ;  tu=130
