OPINION TEXT ON RACISM
Racism is instilled with fear, so fear makes racist people fear or hate other societies than their own; term that is usually called xenophobia. This term can be compared to the conflict of World War II, in which the Nazis had this way of thinking, in which they discriminated against Jews and Gypsies.
Today this is known as racism, which begins when the difference, real or imagined, is raised to justify an aggression. An attack based on failure to understand the other, on the inability to accept the difference and cut the dialogue, and is to believe that some people are superior to others by the mere fact of belonging to a specific prayer. Racists define race as a group of people who share the same ancestry. They distinguish breeds by virtue of physical characteristics such as skin color and hair appearance. In reality, it is of no importance, and above all, no relevant difference.
The word "racism" is also used to describe abusive or aggressive behavior towards members of an "inferior race". Racism takes different forms in different countries according to their history, culture and other social factors. A relatively recent form of racism, sometimes called "ethnic or cultural differentiation" claims that all races and cultures are equal, but should not be mixed, in order to retain their originality. Biology identifies only one race: the human race.
We think that to combat this mentality you must have an education based on:
- Ignore differences and attitudes of the type "ours is the best".
- Achieve thanks to intercultural contact, communication and observation: << others have different ways of acting >>.
- Living in a state of tolerance that respects the fact that others are different, without applying value judgments.
