Mira es super sencillo, te explico:
There is: Este en ingles lo usamos para el singular, osea para expresar la existencia de un algo o alguien (solo UNO)
Un ejemplo:
There is a chair in the classroom (hay un silla en el salon de clases)
There is a book in the chair (hay un libro en la silla)
Aca te doy mas :
There is some butter
There is some orange juice
There isn't munch money in the bank
There is some milk in the refrigeratorthere is munch vegetables
There isn't any cookie
There isn't any sugar
There isn't munch water
There isn't many cake
There isn't some milk
Ok?
There are:Este es el plural, osea lo usamos para dar a entender que existen MUCHAS cosas en un lugar.
Ejemplo:
There are 20 persons there (hay 20 personas ahi)
Aca va mas :
There are some parks in the city
There are some cookies
There aren t any vegetables
There are many banks in this town
There are many buildings
There are many stores in the shopping
There are four eggs in the refrigerator
There are two glasses
There are many cakes in the refrigerator

Osea la gran diferencia explicado sencillamete there is para una cosa y there are para varias cosas
