a loaf of bread is cut into slices of equal size. Some of the loaf is used in a recipe and 2/12 of the loaf is used to make a sandwich. The remaining 7/12 of the load is put into the refrigerator. What fraction of the loaf of bread is used in the recipe?

because if you do 7/12 + 2/12 its 9/12 which is how much was left after they used it for the recipe... 12 would be a whole so, 12 minus 9 is 3 therefore 3/12
