Necesito ayuda tengo una oracion que tengo que convertir en pasado progresivo dice asi the girls (to talk) on the phone for two hours. Debo usar was o were??

Se usa así: The girls were talking on the phone

Se usa Were porque está en plural, si fuera singular sería así:
The girl was talking on the phone

Y también se le agrega -ing al verbo "talk" ya que es pasado progresivo otro ejemplo sería así:
The guys were playing football

Ese es en plural, en singular sería:

The guy was playing football
