We use present simple to talk about things in general. We use it to say that something happens all the time or repeatedly, or that something is true in general. We use it to say how often we do things.

Affirmative form: S+V+C

  • I come from Canada. Where do you come from?
  • She gets up at 8 o'clock every morning

Negative form: S+ don't or doesn't +V+C

  • Julie doesn't drink tea very often
  • Rice doesn't grow in col climates

Interrogative form: Do or Does+ S+V+C+?

  • What do you do?
