Before turning to acting, Mario Casas made sporadic appearances in ads for brands such as Telepizza or Renfe1. After several years working on the series "Los hombres de Paco", he managed to get out of minor roles. In 2006 he achieved a fixed character in the juvenile series SMS.2 That same year, he made his film debut with Antonio Banderas, who gave him the opportunity to participate in El camino de los ingleses.2 Even so, his first roles notable in the big screen did not arrive until 2009 with brain drain and Lies and fat.2 Both got good box office data.2

From January 2011 to February 2013 he starred, along with Blanca Suárez and Juanjo Artero, the series El barco. Shortly after, in May, La Mula was filmed four years earlier in Spanish cinemas. Thanks to this film, he won the Silver Biznaga for the best actor in the Malaga Film Festival.5 On September 27, 2013 he premiered Las brujas de Zugarramurdi in which he was accompanied by Hugo Silva and Pepón Nieto, among others.
In the summer of 2013, he shot his first film in English (premiered in some cinemas in the United States, and in Itunes in 2015), entitled Eden, by director Shyam Madiraju, between Malaysia and Los Angeles. In it, he played the goalkeeper of a football team called Felix. That same year and during the beginning of 2014 he participated in his second international project called Los 33 (The 33), in which he plays a Chilean miner who is trapped in a mine, a story based on the collapse of the San José mine. in 2010, in this film he has shared a cast with Juliette Binoche, Antonio Banderas, Martin Sheen, Rodrigo Santoro and James Brolin among others. Premiered already in countries such as Chile, Mexico or the United States, although there is currently no release date in Spain.6 In December 2015 comes the premiere of Palmeras en la nieve, 7 shot between July 2014 and January 2015, getting the number 1 spot at the box office for many weeks, beating the almighty Star Wars: Episode VII.
In the first semester of 2015 he began filming Toro film by Kike Maillo together with Luis Tosar, 8 playing the character that gives the film its name, and of Mi gran noche by Álex de la Iglesia, together with the singer Rafael.9 In October 2015, Mario began filming the film Contratiempo ("The Invisible Guest" in the international market), along with Bárbara Lennie, Ana Wagener and José Coronado, where Mario gets into the shoes of Adrián Doria, who premiered on January 6, 2017. A month after releasing Contratiempo his third film was released with Álex de La Iglesia: El Bar, where Mario played the character of Nacho.
In 2017 he shot the movie "Under the Skin of the Wolf" giving life to its protagonist, named Martinon. Now he focuses on his next film, the one in the film "The Photographer of Mauthausen" (biopic of the photographer of the second world war Francesc Boix), where Mario will play the role of Boix.
