In se usa para:

Habitaciones: Kitchen, bathroom.
Meses: February, June.
Estaciones del año: Winter, summer, autunm.
Años: 2006 ,1998.
Tiempos del dia: Morning, afternoon, evening (not night).
Otras palabras como: a shop, a museum

On se usa para:
Transporte: a bike, a bus, train, plain, a ship, (not car)
