Respuesta:

The history of the Jews in Spain begins in Roman Hispania. In medieval Spain the Jews constituted one of the most prosperous communities in its history, both under Muslim rule and, later, in the Christian kingdoms, before in 1492 they were expelled by the Catholic Monarchs after the promulgation of the Edict of Granada.

At present there is no census of the number of Jews in Spain. A study carried out in 2012 by Sergio della Pergola calculated only 12,000 individuals; however, all other sources, including the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain, estimate a community of between 40,000 and 50,000 people.
