Without thinking, I picked up a rock and smashed the window. Suddenly, the alarm went off. I climbed in the window quickly and grabbed my purse. I didn't have the alarm code to turn it off; It was in my phone.

Then suddenly, I could hear sirens; someone had called the police.

El tercer condicional habla de situaciones hipotéticas en el pasado.

Por lo tanto, son imposibles ahora, por ende se le llama el “condicional imposible”.

En este ejemplo, la hipotética es que la policía te agarro, y te pregunto si habías visto alguien romper el vidrio, a lo cual tú respondes

"Si hubiera visto a alguien romper el vidrio, te lo hubiera contado."
