Hansel and Gretel are two brothers who are abandoned in the forest. Lost, they find a little house of chocolate and sweets where a little old lady lives and invites them in. The children stay, but the old woman turns out to be a witch who locks the boy in a cage and fattens him up to eat him, while the girl has to do chores. They manage to put off the witch from eating him by making her believe that she is not fattening him, showing her a chicken bone as if it were the child's finger, but the witch gets fed up and decides to eat him anyway. She asks the girl to prepare the oven, but the girl pretends not to know, and when the witch peeks in to show her, she pushes her in and burns herself. The children do not manage to run away and the witch ends up making chocolate to sell and become a millionaire.
