Summary
In the following article we carry out an analysis of theoretical and empirical contents
referring to the link between sport and contemporary society
in order to carry out a study on the current state of the matter. For
This has been carried out a bibliographic review of the references published on the Web
of Science and Scopus between 2000 and 2017. A theoretical meta-analysis is carried out
of the different study categories into which the references are subdivided
international organizations on the subject of study. A secondary analysis is also performed
of the data provided in the investigations that are part of the monograph.
The main results show the current state of academic development
on the study of sport, culture and society, and several reflections on the
current characteristics of the world of sport in contemporary society
