2. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK Old age is the period of life that follows maturity, which is increasingly important, due to the increase in life expectancy of the population. In Mexico, there is an increasing number of people who live to a long age, and each generation does so more than the previous one. Population aging is an issue that concerns us all since in any case, old age is a stage of life that sooner or later we will have to live. For this reason, the creation of spaces where care services are provided to older adults is substantial. According to article 3 of the Law on the Rights of Older Adults (2011), older adults are defined as those who are sixty years of age or older and who are domiciled or in transit in the national territory. In primitive cultures, reaching advanced ages meant a privilege, therefore, the elderly had a preponderant place in society. In Egypt, the old man was glorified, as a fundamental pillar in the education of the youngest and as a symbol of wisdom. In Greece, for the first time charitable institutions are created concerned with the care of the elderly in need. In Athens, power was concentrated in the Areopagus, which was an aristocratic institution of ancient archons. In the Roman world, the old man was a highly regarded character in the texts of this time, in fact the problems of old age were raised from almost all aspects: political, social, psychological, demographic and medical.
