  • a tornado doesnt  form if a rotating column of wind from a storm does not touch the ground
  • If you don't hear the thunder just a few seconds after the lightning flashes, then the storm is not nearby
  • Coastal flooding does not occur if hurricanes or tsunamis do not cause water to penetrate more than normal
