Answer:

We have

4x + 3y = 8 (i)

2x + 2y = 8 (ii)

So multiplying the equation (ii) by 2 we have 4x + 4y =16 (iii)

Hence, subtracting (i) from (iii) we have

y = 8. Therefore, substituting y in either of the first two equations you have

x = -4
