A Day in the Life of Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi is one of Argentina's best known footballers. He plays for
FC Barcelona. Experts say that Messi plays football like Maradona but
Lionel does not like that comparison. “I admire Diego, but I don't think
we have got the same style."

Contrary to what teenagers usually believe, Lionel Messi has got a very
busy life. He gets up very early in the morning, has breakfast with his girlfriend and
then takes a quick shower. At 9 o'clock, Lionel drives to the club and he trains the
whole morning and the afternoon. He says his life is normal. "I am happy about my life.
I go shopping or to the cinema like other people, but at a different time."
He tries to visit his family every time he can. He often sees his parents three times a
year. Messi does not only like playing football. He also helps children in Argentina.
"Being a bit famous now gives me the opportunity to help people who really need it,
especially children.” His charity foundation helps children with medical conditions.
Messi doesn't like seeing poor people in the streets of his native country.
