Have you ever been to London in winter? It often rains there, so London has had many floods. People have tried to solve this problem many times, but they haven't succeeded. Now London officials are trying again – but this time, they are doing it with plants! Workers have planted 10,000 plants in an unusual garden at a hotel near Victoria train station. They haven't put signs up telling people not to walk in the garden because they haven't built it on the ground. Instead, they have planted it on a 21-metre-high wall! Why have they did that? This living wall will hold up to 10,000 litres of water from rain and will help prevent floods. An expert has also designed it to absorb pollution and to attract many types of insects and birds. If the living wall works, we will probably see many more of them in Britain's cities in the future.
