Justice for inmates

This article is about a very important topic but very little discussed. And it's about justice for prisoners who are treated in jails like animals.
At first I thought that people in jails did not deserve rights and what is more, for their crimes they deserved death. But wishing for death doesn't make you much different from a murderer. I also thought they were horrible and bad people who ruined society. But it is the society that has ruined these people. Most of the prisoners are victims of the justice system since they come from poverty, abuse in the family, immigrants or people of color. And they cant cant do anything wrong because they are already locked in a jail, without being able to give them a second chance. But if they were money people, they would give them even third opportunities since they are people of value, right? Ever since I was little I thought that villains were the people who were imprisoned but are the rich people that are at the top of the world who really kill and steal from the poor. They are the real criminals and villains.
My opinion about this topic today is that deserve to be respected and treated like people. Some of this "criminals" are innocent but they are poor or black and thats the problem. Some of them do not deserve prison but centers that can help them with traumatic issues that they went through or any other problem that lead to the mistake they commited. Everyone deserve second chances.:)
I hope that one day we will be like netherlands, a country were prisons are scarce because they give people second chances to become better.
