Dendral (Interprets molecular structure) is the name of an expert system developed by Edward Feigenbaum and other programmers at Stanford University, in the mid-1960s. Its development lasted ten years, (1965 to 1975)

It was the first expert system to be used to use real, apart from computational research, and for approximately 10 years, the system had some success among chemists and biologists, since it greatly facilitated the inference of molecular structures, domain in which Dendral I was specialized.
