Mrs Jenkins: “Ted dear, I want you to come straight home from school today. We’re visiting Aunt Mabel in hospital.”
Ted: “But I’m going to the cinema with Ben this afternoon. I can’t come.”
Caroline: “You’re coming, Ted. You’ll just have to go to the cinema tomorrow or something.”
Ted: “That’ll be too late. The film changes tomorrow.”
Mr Jenkins: “Look, Ted, you were happy enough to see Aunt Mabel last Christmas when she gave you those lovely presents, weren’t you? You had plenty of time then, didn’t you? Well, now you can at least visit her when she is in hospital, OK?”

Mrs Jenkins told Ted that he wanted him to come straight home from school because they had to visit his Aunt Mabel in hospital. But Ted answered that he couldn’t He told him that he was going to the cinema with his friend Ben that afternoon.
Caroline told Ted that he was going to the hospital. She said that he would just go to the cinema tomorrow.
Ted replied that that it would be too late as the film changed the schedule. Then his father said that Ted was happy enough to see Aunt Mabel last Christmas when she gave him a lot of presents. Mr Jenkins said that Ted had plenty of time then.
Finally, Ted’s father told him that he could at least visit her when she is ill in hospital.
