f(x+h) = 3(x+h)^2 + 10(x+h) – 3 = 3(x^2 + h^2 + 2xh) + 10(x+h) - 3 = 3x^2 + 3h^2 + 6xh +10x + 10h – 3  

f(x) = 3x^2 + 10x – 3

f(x+h)- f(x) = 3x^2 + 3h^2 + 6xh +10x + 10h – 3  – (3x^2 + 10x – 3) = 6hx + 3h^2  + 10h

[f(x+h)-f(x)]/h = [6hx + 3h^2  + 10h]/h =  6x + 10 +  3h
