The Doctrine of Indulgences is a concept of Catholic Christian theology closely linked to the concepts of sin, penance, remission and purgatory. In its wording, at present, in the word, in the temporal penalty of it, we can be the object of a remission or indulgence (from the Latin indulgentia: 'kindness, benevolence, grace, remission, favor') granted by a representative of the Church and under certain conditions. This is reminiscent of ancient Christianity and both its practice and its formulation have evolved over time. The Protestant doctrine does not agree with the criteria mentioned. For this reason, since the Reformation, it was only an object of development within the Catholic Church.
