1. Igualando matrices 

   Para que 2 matrices sean iguales tienen que cumplir que:

          - Sus ordenes sean iguales.
          - Cada uno de los elementos de cada una de las posiciones de                  las matrices son iguales.

*Como las 2 matrices tienen el mismo orden(2x2), entonces podemos hacer
$\left[\begin{array}{ccc}x&2\\3&y\\\end{array}\right] = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&2\\3&4\end{array}\right] \\ \\ =\ \textgreater \ x =1 \\ =\ \textgreater \ y =4$

2. Otro mètodo es llevar a un sistema de ecuaciones
$\left[\begin{array}{ccc}x&2\\3&y\\\end{array}\right] - \left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&2\\3&4\end{array}\right]= \left[\begin{array}{ccc}0&0\\0&0\\\end{array}\right] \\ \\ \left[\begin{array}{ccc}x-1&0\\0&y-4\\\end{array}\right] = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}0&0\\0&0\end{array}\right] \\ \\ =\ \textgreater \ x-1 = 0 =\ \textgreater \ x =1 \\ =\ \textgreater \ y-4 = 0=\ \textgreater \ y =4$
