The conquerors who settle in the lands of the new world impose a value system based on the merits that these conquerors had contracted for their actions of discovery and conquest. This system of values would end up colliding with the Spaniards who over time are coming from Spain to America. These newly arrived Spaniards arrive invested with great powers to organize the colonies and throughout the colonial period will not be willing to respect the value system represented by the first settlers and their descendants. Throughout the colonial period there will be an increasingly strong confrontation between the Creoles and the peninsulares. In the practical field, that rivalry is established at the moment to accede to the high positions of the administration or the ecclesiastical hierarchy. But this confrontation is not reduced to a struggle for a distribution of positions, but it is a much deeper phenomenon that increasingly separated Creoles and peninsulares.
