For y Since son dos preposiciones que se utilizan con el presente perfecto y el presente perfecto continuo. I have lived here since 2009 (vivo aca desde 2009)
I have lived here for 16 years. (vivo aca desde hace 16 años)
I have been studying English for 6 months (llevo estudiando inglés6  meses)
