Uso del verbo to be en pasado simple:

Lo primero que debemos saber es con que tipo de sujeto en la oración se utiliza el verbo was o were en las oraciones afirmativas, en las oraciones negativas estos verbos se acompañan del not (was not o were not) y en las oraciones interrogativas siempre anteceden a la oración

Pronombre: Presente: Pasado:

   I                     am           was

  He               is           was

  She               is           was

    It                    is           was

   We              are          were

  They              are          were

Oraciones afirmativas, negativas e interrogativas:

1. Pedro was on the beach (Afirmativa)
