Water
I’m so thirsty! I need a drink of water. (water = agua)
Did you remember to water my plants? (water = regar)
Park
Where did you park the car? (park = aparcar)
There’s a beautiful park outside the palace. (park = parque)
Cross
There’s a cross on the top of the church tower. (cross = cruz)
Let’s cross the street so we can walk in the shade. (cross = cruzar)
Ring
He gave her a ring with a huge diamond! (ring = anillo)
Give me a ring later, we’ll talk about it. (ring = llamada)
Ring the bell if you want them to open the door for you. (ring the bell = llamar al timbre)
La frase give someone a ring es un poco ambigua ya que puede ser literal (regalar un anillo a alguien) o figurativa (llamar a alguien por teléfono). En todo caso, el contexto normalmente lo deja claro.
Sign
There’s a sign on the door that says KEEP OUT. Should we go inside? (sign = señal, aviso)
Could you please sign this paper? (sign = firmar)
Stop
Is there a bus stop near here? (stop = parada)
