Oraciones en pasado simple regulares:
Afirmativo, se usa el ed al final de las oraciones cuando son REGULARES.

-I watched TV for 2 hours.
-They wanted to see her.
-He studied English for his classes.

Negativo, para negar se utiliza el auxiliar did + not y el verbo.

- Cecilia didn't work this week.
- He didn't marry her.
- We didn't paint our house.

Interrogativo, se utiliza el auxiliar did solamente para interrogativo POSITIVO.
- Did you study yesterday?
- Did Paul smoke?
- Did they travel to California?

Oraciones en pasado simple irregulares:

Afirmativo. Cuando son irregulares, tienen otra forma de escribirse, y no sigue el patrón de agregarle -ed al final, pero que igualmente es pasado simple:

-My mom found a dog yesterday, so she decided to adopt it.
 (Found significa find, por lo que es irregular, ya que no sigue el patrón de -ed al final).

- I forgot the final exam.

-They sent a letter for me.

-Sara withdrew some money for the party. (Sara retiró plata para la fiesta)

Negativo. Se utiliza el mismo did + not, la diferencia es que podemos saber que son irregulares, cuando formulamos el verbo en afirmativo y lo convertimos a negativo, entonces:

I didn't teach him/    I taught him= (No le enseñé a él/  Le enseñé a él)
-She didn't smell bad food/    She smelt bad food.

-Rebecca didn't sing, because she sings horrible.

-They didn't learn to swim.

Oraciones en interrogativo. Para ello, se utiliza el mismo auxiliar did, sin embargo, se tiene en cuenta que  tenemos que formular el verbo en afirmativo y lo convertimos a interrogativo que es el mismo en su base forma, entonces:

- Did you teach him to swim? (afirmativo de teach= taught)

- Did he run for hours?  (afirmativo de run= ran)

-Did someone steal her? (afirmativo de steal= stole)
