Since that FG = FD = DG are diagonals of the squares, the figure FGD is a equilateral triangle. See also that such FGD has a E vertex (i.e. a tetrahedron FGD - E), for hence, since that the cube has 8 vertex, then there are 8 equilaterals triangles.
