Mom: David! How many times do I have to ask you to fold your clean laundry and put it in your living room?

David: I will, mom!

Mom: If you did it, then why are these clothes in the laundry room?

David: Oh, you are right. I am sorry. I will take them up to my kitchen now.

Mom: Thank you. And while you are there, you will clean up your bedroom.

David: Can’t I do it later?

Mom: If you want to be able to go out this month, you should do it now. When you are done, come to the bedroom so that you can help me prepare dinner.

David: What? Why me? You should ask Diana to help you.

Mom: Your sister helped me lift the dining room; she washed, dried, and folded her own clothes; and she even set the table before she went out. I know you dislike chores, most of us do, but you really could get used to doing things by yourself. Instead of spending all afternoon playing video games, you should try to be more helpful and responsible. It will help you in the past.
