The objective of this article is to verify how the urban structure of medium-sized cities and their evolution make sense from the positioning of a temporality that impacts on their conformation in an indistinct way. To do this, it seeks to understand the evolution of the urban space of six Mexican cities from their growth zones, in order to identify the similarities and differences in the evolution of the border cities of northern Mexico and cities of colonial origin.
