Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is a singer-songwriter, record producer and actress. She was born in Houston, Texas, in 1981 and she has always loved singing. She started her career at the age of 9 as the lead singer of the group Destiny's Child.
After many hits with the group, Beyoncé began a solo career when she was 23 years old. Her debut album, DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE, was a great success and she became a top-selling artist. She released her second album three years later and she has produced three more albums since then.
Beyoncé is one of the most famous singers in the world and she has used her fame to help to raise money for many different charities around the world incluiding Oxfam and Stand Up to Cancer. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she started the Survivor Foundation to provide homes for victims of the hurricane. Since then, her foundation has helped many different charities around the world.
