Hi, An argumentative essay is one that expresses and opinion either for or against a topic. For example, let´s say you want to write about school uniforms.
Your argumentative essay might be about how school uniforms help students feel part of a community and that uniforms also help students focus more on their academics instead of their fashion.
The format is the same as any other essay.
Introduction with a thesis statement
body- which means at least 3 paragraphs with evidence to prove your point based on research and preferably quotes.
conclusion- paragraph where you will make sure to re-state your thesis statement and maybe leave the reader with some thought.
Example at a 6th grade level, keep in mind that you cannot use this same essay as it has already been graded and turned in so your teacher can and will find it in internet if she searches.
