1. Verbo to Be.

Es un tiempo verbal en que se comunica la acción qué está haciendo el sujeto en el momento; este tiempo verbal responde a las preguntas: ¿qué estás haciendo?, ¿quién eres?, ¿dónde estás?

Las oraciones se construyen con la siguiente fórmula:

Positivo: Pronombre personal + verbo to be (+ verbo con -ing) + complemento.

Negativo: Pronombre personal + verbo to be en negativo (+ verbo con -ing +) complemento.

Interrogativo: Verbo to Be + Pronombre personal (+ verbo con -ing) + complemento.

Clasificación del Verbo to Be por Pronombres Personales:

Yo: I am - I'm / I am not - I'm not.

Tú, Ellos, Nosotros, Ustedes: You are - They're / We aren't - You're not - They are not.

Ella, Él, Eso: She is - He's / It isn't - She's not - He is not.

Ejemplos:

The dog is barking. / El perro está ladrando.

They are my friend. / Ellos son mis amigos.

I am at the mall. / Yo estoy en el centro comercial.
