Tengo una duda, espero que no sea mucha molestia; que haya un "but" no interfiere en que hayan dos verbos en pasado simple seguidos?
Podríamos decir que sí y no. "But" es una conjunción y en una oración compuesta, un coordinador ("coordinator"); sin embargo para que sea usado en una oración compuesta debe haber una coma.
