NOTA:
Solo se usa una coma cuando la condición está al principio de la oración condicional. Cuando la oración principal está al principio, como en este caso, la coma no es necesaria.

Complete the following sentences using the second conditional.

1. Algunas oraciones pueden completarse de más de una forma correcta. Puedes escoger cualquiera de los verbos que he escrito, pues todos son correctos.
2. He añadido un par de oraciones en el segundo ejercicio. Ahora tú no las necesitas, pero quizás en el futuro, otros estudiantes, sí.

➤ SECOND CONDITIONAL SENTENCES
➜ Second Conditional Sentences – Structure:
• If-clause (= conditional clause) ➙ Past simple
• Main clause ➙ Conditional simple = 'would' + infinitive of the verb
➜ Estas oraciones describen una situación irreal en el presente o en el futuro.
➜ La forma del verbo 'to be' es 'were' para todas las personas, ya que está en modo subjuntivo (no en pasado simple). (La forma 'was' se utiliza a veces, pero solo en inglés hablado o informal).
➜ Los auxiliares modales 'could', 'should' y 'might' pueden usarse en la oración principal en vez de 'would'.
➜ La condición (= 'if-clause') puede estar al principio o al final de la oración.
• Si la condición está primero, se usa una coma para separarla de la oración principal.
• Si la condición aparece al final, la coma no es necesaria.
Ejemplos:
• If you asked me, I would help you.
• I would help you if you asked me.

➜ Third Conditional Sentences – Structure:

• Main clause ➙ Conditional perfect = 'would' + 'have' + past participle of the main verb
➜ Estas oraciones se usan para hablar de situaciones irreales en el pasado, y para expresar excusas, regañar a alguien o mostrar arrepentimiento.
➜ El verbo auxiliar 'would' puede sustituirse por 'could' o 'might'.
➜ La condición (= if-clause) puede estar al principio (separada por una coma de la oración principal) o al final de la oración (sin coma), como ocurre con todas las subordinadas adverbiales.
