RESUMEN
En este momento de la historia de la humanidad, el hombre se encuentra
anulado en su parte natural. Necesita sentir y trabajar de nuevo los sentidos
para un aprendizaje de vida más plena.
Algunos artistas incluyen en su obra el objetivo de propiciar la participación
del público. De esta manera, se aportará al espectador una vivencia más
intensa, quien recibirá un mayor número de sensaciones adquiridas a través
de los sentidos; el público, al tomar parte en la obra, le proporciona a ésta un
sentido más completo. Podría decirse que se reportan vida mutuamente.
El objetivo de este estudio es comprender por qué el hombre necesita
participar de la obra y cuál es su evolución en ese comportamiento entre
público y creación, especialmente en el ámbito de la escultura.
Partiendo del origen del comportamiento de creación del hombre, a través de
las teorías de Rudolf Arheim y Merleau-Ponty recordamos que los sentidos y
por lo tanto las sensaciones son primordiales desde nuestro nacimiento, ellas
determinan el comportamiento y el conocimiento, las sensaciones son pues
nuestro primer contacto con el conocimiento.
Continuamos haciendo un repaso con respecto a las sensaciones en la
evolución histórica del hombre con la obra de arte, estudiando esa relación a
través de los grandes cambios históricos en la sociedad y en la educación, tan
importante para el aprendizaje de la percepción; y terminamos trabajando con
la situación actual de esta comunicación entre público y obra.
El papel actual del artista nos insta a una nueva manera de ver la creación
artística, aunque esta tenga una aceptación de ritmo lento. La necesidad de
compartir del artista con el público y viceversa es el origen de estas
creaciones, donde se genera un flujo de empatía mutuo. Y para compartir y
empatizar al tiempo, las sensaciones son el centro neurálgico de nuestro
comportamiento al respecto. Por ello la participación entre público y obra es
tan importante, pues a través de los sentidos el hombre estará más cerca de
obtener mayores beneficios emocionales. Estas obras en muchos casos tienen
una finalidad práctica y de utilidad, por lo tanto no están completas hasta que
no se les da un uso final, el uso que las completa del todo y hace que estén
vividas en su plenitud.

ABSTRACT
In this moment in history, man’s natural side is annulled. He needs to feel and
use his senses again in order to reach an apprenticeship of a more fulfilling
life.
Some artists include in their work the objective of obtaining the audience’s
participation. In this way, the spectator will be given a more intense
experience, receiving a larger number of sensations through the senses. Also,
when taking part in artwork, the audience contributes in giving it a more
complete meaning. We could say audience and artwork bring life to each
other.
The objective of this study is to understand why man needs to take part in art
and the evolution in this behaviour between audience and artwork, especially
regarding sculpture.
We start with the beginning of man’s creating behaviour and with Rudolf
Arheim’s and Merleau-Ponty’s theories we recall that senses and therefore
sensations are fundamental from our moment of birth. They are the ones who
determine behaviour and knowledge. Sensations are for that reason our first
contact with knowledge.
We continue with a review regarding sensations in man’s historical evolution
with art. We study this relationship in society’s and education’s great
historical changes, which hold such an important place in the study of
perception. In the end we work on the actual situation of the communication
between audience and artwork.
The artist’s actual role urges us to look at artistic creation in a new way even if
the acceptance of this is still slow in coming around. The artist’s need of
sharing with the audience and vice versa is the starting point of this artwork
where a mutual emphatic flow is generated. Sensations are the neural centre
of our behaviour regarding sharing and empathising together. That is why
involvement of audience and art is so important: man can gain a higher
emotional benefit through the senses.
These works have in many cases a practical final purpose and are not totally
finished until they are given their final use. This use makes them complete
and enables them to be enjoyed in fullness.
