The festival of Saint John Baptist is celebrated every June 24 in Venezuela, in all regions, but especially in the coastal areas where the Saint is paraded, dancing to the sound of traditional Afro-descendant dances.

Last year (2021) UNESCO declared the festivity and worship of Saint John Baptist as intangible cultural heritage of humanity, becoming the 8th manifestation of the Caribbean country inscribed on this list. In this festivity in my community, the neighbors get together to dress the saint and decorate with flowers the place where they are going to walk through all the streets, another neighborhood group is in charge of playing the drums and singing while the walk is made, while others dress in traditional costumes and dance to music.
