Lucy was walking her dog in the park one morning when she ran into Roger. She hadn’t seen Roger for years, since they had broken up.
They had gone out for only six months back in 2004, but Roger had left her for a reason she had never discovered.
So, today, when she was walking in the park, she was very surprised to see Roger. “Hi, Roger!” she said.
Roger looked at her and said, “Oh, hi Lucy. It’s been a long time. How are you?”
“Oh, I’m fine.” said Lucy. “I was just walking my dog in the park.”
“What have you been doing the last few years?”, asked Roger.
“Oh, you know.” said Lucy. “The usual things. I’ve been working, getting married, having children. Normal things that everybody does. And you? What have you been doing?”
“Oh, not much. I’ve been living with my parents this whole time.”
“Are you working?”
“No, I’m not. I’m looking for a job. The company I was working for closed last year.”
“Well, that’s interesting,” said Lucy.
“So… Do you want to go get a coffee?” asked Roger. “I’ve got some time before my mother expects me back at home.”
“No, thanks,” said Lucy. “My children are waiting for me at home. I’m going to make lunch. It’s good to see you, though.”
“It’s good to see you, too.”
Lucy turned and walked away. Her dog followed her, and Roger watched her until she disappeared among the trees.

Lucy estaba paseando a su perro en el parque una mañana cuando se encontró con Roger. No había visto a Roger durante años, desde que se separaron.
Habían salido solo seis meses en 2004, pero Roger la había dejado por una razón que ella nunca había descubierto.
Entonces, hoy, cuando caminaba por el parque, se sorprendió mucho al ver a Roger. "¡Hola, Roger!" ella dijo.
Roger la miró y dijo: “Oh, hola Lucy. Ha sido un largo tiempo. ¿Cómo estás?"

“¿Qué has estado haciendo los últimos años?”, Preguntó Roger.
"Oh tú sabes." dijo Lucy. “Las cosas habituales. He estado trabajando, casándome, teniendo hijos. Cosas normales que hace todo el mundo. ¿Y usted? ¿Qué has estado haciendo?"
“Oh, no mucho. He estado viviendo con mis padres todo este tiempo ".
"¿Estás trabajando?"
"No no soy. Estoy buscando un trabajo. La empresa para la que trabajaba cerró el año pasado ".
"Bueno, eso es interesante", dijo Lucy.
"Entonces ... ¿Quieres ir a tomar un café?" preguntó Roger. "Tengo algo de tiempo antes de que mi madre me espere de regreso en casa".
"No, gracias", dijo Lucy. “Mis hijos me esperan en casa. Voy a preparar el almuerzo. Sin embargo, es bueno verte ".
"Es bueno verte también".
Lucy se volvió y se alejó. Su perro la siguió y Roger la observó hasta que desapareció entre los árboles.
