MARY SEEMS STRESSED Mary is having problems in her Chemical’s class. She often can’t do her homework because she doesn’t understand it and she never gets good marks in her exams. When she gets bad marks, her stomach turns, her hands sweat, she gets a headache and she feels physically sick. She also feels depressed and often very sad. Mary is a normal healthy teenager, but stress is affecting her both physically and psychologically! She really doesn’t want to tell her parents about her bad marks because she thinks they will be angry with her. When she goes to bed she can’t sleep because she’s thinking about her exam marks. In the morning, she doesn’t want to have breakfast and she doesn’t want to talk to anyone. Mary really doesn’t want to go to school and she definitely doesn’t want to go to her Chemical class, so she tells her parents that she has a stomach ache. Activity 4: Answer: How is Mary´s body reacting to stress? What is happening with some of her organs and parts.
