La regla dice que en la forma de pregunta y negativa el verbo va siempre en su forma base:

Did the cars stopped...? ❎

Did the cars stop...? ✅

Las preguntas siempre empiezan con el did y el verbo siempre en su forma inicial.

En la negativas se agrega el didn't para indicar el no y luego el verbo:

She didn't play with me.

Ella no jugó conmigo.
