This is a true statement, because with front lighting you won't get too many shadows. If any of your images are more likely to be at least pretty good from out of the gate. You almost can't go wrong with front lighting if your are capturing a family portrait or a gathering, like a graduation, with its flat look, you will greatly cover up defections such as aging.
