Last Saturday, Mr Fry drove to the centre of the town. He parked his car and walked into a bookshop.

A police officer told him: 'While the thief was driving, your parrot suddenly shouted: 'Stop! Police!'. The man was so scared that he stopped the car and got out. A police car saw him while he was running in the street and arrested him!

While he was paying for his books a man with a black mask over his head got into Mr Fry's car and drove away. Mr Fry saw him and he ran after him. Then he remenbered that Lucky, his pet parrot was on the black seat. He decided to go to the police station. While he was paying the taxi driver he saw his car- it was in the police car park!

Explicación:

Para que los distingas: El pasado simple se usa para hablar de acciones en el pasado que pasaron en un momento en concreto y que no pueden volver a pasar y el pasado continuo se usa para hablar de acciones en progreso en el pasado.
