1. Take the time to understand what you are feeling

If the conflict does not demand immediate attention, try to find a place where you can be calm.

Breathe slowly and try to recognize some of the basic emotions that we have mentioned.

It is important that you do not make value judgments such as "I should not feel this", remember that it is an involuntary reaction, just validate it for yourself.

Later you will decide if it is convenient to express it and how to do it.

2. Own what you feel

A very common mistake is to use the “you make me feel this way” argument.

This usually generates arguments because it denies our personal responsibility.

It must be recognized that, regardless of the behavior of others, it is our subjective thoughts and interpretations that provoke our emotions.

It is better to use "when you do this, I feel ...".

3. Use the right words

If we use sensitive verbs like: "I notice", "I perceive", "I feel"; They will not argue with us quickly, because they refer to a personal internal state.

Only you can know how you are feeling. Try to be precise in what you communicate.

Saying: "I feel good / bad" can convey a confusing idea about your state of mind.

It is very helpful to point out the name of the emotion you identified, or at least as closely as possible.
