The story is about a young that has recurring dreams, vary every night and the characters are becoming every time older.
One day, a friend called john Clinton invites him to the house of his family in Sussex. When they arrive, he is gives count that is the same house of their dreams. Unlike of his dream the people are more agreeable, then when he arrives to his room is meets with a picture of the mrs stone that decide to take outside. Without the picture in the room he sleeps quietly.
On the following day, he wakes up suddenly and he meets to the mrs stone opposite to his bed that wants drink his blood and he goes out running together with his friend that to the beginning not believe him and they abandon the house.
One year later he returns to the same place and a old woman tells her that: long time ago in that room has dead a woman, the villages bury her three times, but her grave is always out of place. Until that they decide bury under three in her garden. But the villages say that she visits to the youngs in theiir dreams, and she bring them here.
