Aun cuando no sentimos que la Tierra se mueva porque lo hace de manera suave, nos damos cuenta porque observamos el movimiento aparente de los astros a su alrededor, y sabemos que nuestro planeta gira sobre su eje, porque suceden el día y la noche, los cuerpos al caer se desvían hacia el este, los vientos y las corrientes marinas se desvían hacia la derecha de su punto de partida en el hemisferio norte hacia la izquierda en el hemisferio sur, y porque no todos los lugares del mundo tienen la misma hora.
