• Usamos 'prefer' para decir lo que preferimos en general.
Patterns:
• I prefer something + to + something else (= prefer noun + to + noun)
• I prefer doing something + to + doing something else
• I prefer to do something + rather than + (do) something else
Examples:
• He prefers rugby to football. (➺ Él prefiere el rugby al fútbol americano.)
• I prefer walking to going by car. (➺ Prefiero ir caminando a ir en coche.)
• I prefer to eat fish rather than (eat) meat. (➺ Prefiero comer carne que (comer) pescado.)

• Usamos 'would prefer' para decir lo que preferimos en una situación particular (no en general).
