Brockton Stabbing 11.30.16

BROCKTON, Mass. — A fatal stabbing took place at a Brockton home on Wednesday afternoon.
It was the second stabbing in the city on Wednesday in under an hour, the Brockton Enterprise reported.
The mayor’s office confirmed the stabbing was fatal and the incident grew out of a domestic situation. This is only the second homicide in the city in 2016, following a murder-suicide on Mason Street on June 15.
A woman had called police about 12:56 p.m. to report one of her family members was stabbed inside a home at 34 Merritt Ave., at the end of the street off of Oscar Avenue, near Howard and Winter streets on the city’s north side.
Police initially had difficulty understanding what occurred due to a language barrier.
Firefighters arrived on scene and reported they were able to secure the knife and the suspect.
Upon arrival, Plymouth County crime scene investigators placed a tent on the lawn next to the deck on the right side of the house reportedly in an effort to preserve evidence.
As of 2:25 p.m., investigators remained working outside and had yet to enter the home
Brockton police Chief John Crowley referred all questions to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
