Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, conocida popularmente como Shakira es una compositora, productora y cantante colombiana de gran reconocimiento y éxito mundial, nació en Barranquilla el 2 de febrero de 1977.

Su álbum debut fue "Pies Descalzos" lanzado en 1995, sin embargo, alcanzó el reconocimiento mundial con el álbum “Laundry Service” traducido como Servicio de Lavandería en el 2001. Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, popularly known as Shakira is a Colombian composer, producer and singer of great recognition and success worldwide, born in Barranquilla on February 2, 1977.

Her debut album was "Pies Descalzos" released in 1995, however, it achieved worldwide recognition with the album "Laundry Service" translated as Servicio de Lavandería in 2001. Shakira's best-known songs are "Hips Don't Lie" and "Whenever, Wherever" which has made her the most sold Colombian artist and the second most successful female and Latin singer after Gloria Estefan.
